Mat Calculator: DIY Framed Art

I’ve had this app on my phone for maybe 3 years now (at least), because being a DIY’er I knew I’d need it eventually, and since it’s been 20 years since I worked in the framing dept at Michaels I basically forgot everything I learned, haha! Anyway, cut some mats last night and this app calculated the perfect dimension. Great app, can’t wait to cut more mats!

It had been awhile since I used this app and to be honest with you I thought it sucked back then. NOW, since this app has been updated I find it even more useful. I love the additional features such as the Mat Board Optimizer and Proportional Scale. Awesome! When matting a photo or project, you need to know what you want to achieve and then this app will help you conceive and plan your matting and framing requirements. It would help if you are already familiar with how to perform mat cutting but not necessary if you can perform some basic critical thinking and aren't an of entitled spoon feed me or read my mind kinda person. I love the app now and it is even better with the ability to load a picture from my photo album or even take a pic on the fly to visualize the mat. Heck you can even change the mat color too. Thanks again for the update!

This is a clean and easy way to get the layout with out a pencil and paper. It's nearly there for me though because the Mat Optimization tool instantly shuts the app off and closes it. It doesn't freeze, it just quits. I have an iPhone 5s. If this can be fixed I have some suggestions for the app.
