Cuts-Out

I want to rate this app higher, and with a little tweaking I’d happily give it a big 5 stars because of the outstanding choice. BUT, if you briefly lose mobile reception signal, the app does not automatically continue playing once reception returns. Instead you have to shut the app down and re-open it again. This is a complete and utter bum every morning when I am on the tube going in and out of tunnels. I used to listen on the TuneIn radio app until Absolute Radio disappeared off of it. That app could manage it - no matter the gap in reception, it would just automatically pick the station back up again and continue playing once signal returned. Additionally with this app you get extra songs instead of adverts. This is good - but the songs aren’t listed on the Absolute Radio playlist and when listening via the app, it doesn’t tell you what song is playing (unlike the ‘normal’ tracks). As a result I couldn’t find a great track that I heard on Absolute for the first time yesterday and now I have no way of finding out what it was! I couldn’t catch all the lyrics either because I was on a bloody train and the signal cut-out after about a minute. By the time I regained signal and restarted the app, it was back on another song.

Can’t get rid of me that easy

I’ve been a listener since about six months before the first launch in around 1982 when it was a test station, I found you when I bought one of those clock radio alarm clocks that were around in those days not unlike the one in the film Groundhog Day, I set my alarm and when it woke me up it was playing Rock nRoll by Led Zepplin, I though now this is the way I want to be woke up, anyway I was a fan from then and was already a seasoned listener by the time of the official launch when the first official song was played INXS playing a steppenwolf cover born to be wild, I’ve been with you through some changes over the years and some great DJ’s even the legendary Empora Roscoe ( Roscoe James McClean) and let’s not forget the Ross and Joni breakfast show, I’ve won a couple of prizes from you like tickets to see Coldplay at the Palladium by suggesting the Coldplay Monopoly game, I also got a DAB radio off of you for my selection of haven’t heard it for ages when you had to call in before the song had finished to win the radio, I ever got my windscreen cleaned by Richie one morning when the breakfast show were trying to raise money for a Christmas party I can’t listen to you during working hours any longer as my lorry stereo is very cheap and nasty and hasn’t even got an AUX point for me to plug in my phone and my boss wouldn’t even consider an upgrade, but I still listen on my commute to and from work and on my rest days, I wish you all the best for the future

Gutted!

Absolutely brilliant app. Does exactly what it says on the tin! However, it needs to be said that Classic Rock plays almost the exact same tracks each evening! Originally I only listened to Classic Rock and it was always around 10 in the evening till about midnight. Within that time you could bet that you’d hear about 75% of the songs you’d heard the night before. I ended up changing to the main channel for a bit more variety. Only other gripe I have is that all the competitions, which are superb by the way, are mainly in the London area! I’m totally gutted because I’d love to take part in the majority concert based comps, plus all the “Wicks” ones, and the pub quiz ones. Actually I’d have a go at the lot as they really have some cracking competition prizes, but being North of the Border means I can only listen to the happy winning feckers and imagine how blinkin’ superb they must be feeling after scooping the prize they’d just got. Gutted!!! Anyhoo I gave 5 stars in the hope that they track me down and get me to an exclusive gig with Muse or Coldplay. In return I’d delete the part above about Classic Rock!
