Ok so first off, I’ve only had this 16x16 board for less than a day, and it’s really cool! BUT! In my opinion the app is a bit limited, and I’ve noticed a few things that could be fixed/added/changed: 1. A color picker or eye dropper tool so you can choose a specific color you already used before. The 6 main colors plus white are already saved, but if you wanted to use dark green or cyan or a different shade of an existing color you have to do it all in one go and never change that color because it’s IMPOSSIBLE to find that exact color again. A tool to select a previously used color or the ability to save custom colors would be amazing. 2. A bug I’ve noticed is that the undo button sometimes doesn’t undo quickly enough (it freezes and looks like nothing happened) so I keep tapping the undo button and accidentally make the whole picture disappear. Then when I bring the picture back I can’t make any edits at all and have to close and reopen the app, which is kind of annoying, ESPECIALLY if you forget to save your progress. 3. All the text boxes that pop up for literally everything you do have no spaces between the words, and I’m not sure why. Maybe it’s a translation error or a coding bug? I don’t know, I can read most of it just fine, but it IS strange… Again, these are minor issues, but I’ve already started to notice these problems and I’ve only had the app for less than a day (as of writing this review). But like I said, this is SUPER cool for creating your own art and animations to display, so good job to the developers for making this! It just needs a little adjustment here and there to be REALLY perfect! I might even look into getting more of these if there are any larger board sizes…

There are a few key features that intuitively should be present and aren’t. The glaring issue I’ve noticed so far is that the only options to change text size are SimSun and SimHei. After googling and figuring out what they meant, it still doesn’t change the text size. The text size should be a drop down menu just like it is in every single program that has ever allowed for text size to be changed. I would get over the other issues (adding only one pic at a time, no custom color, cluttered menu options) and rate it 5 stars if the text issue would be fixed. The product is really cool and while I normally wouldn’t buy a product that requires its own app, this was given to me as a product to review and now I find myself enjoying it but unable to give it the five stars it could get were they to fix this issue.

I recently got the iDotMatrix Pixel Art Display for my desk, and it has been a fantastic addition to my workspace. The color selection in the editor tools is somewhat limited, and it would be great to have access to a broader spectrum. Additionally, having a browsing feature within the app would make it easier to find specific images or patterns to display on the screen, enhancing the overall user experience. Another feature request would be the ability to enlarge the canvas in the editor tool. This would provide more space for creativity and allow for more intricate designs. Lastly, ensuring that images and GIFs appear crisp and clear on the screen without any blurriness would be a significant enhancement to the product. Despite these minor app-related suggestions, the iDotMatrix Pixel Art Display is still a fantastic product. Its programmable LED screen brings joy and creativity to any space, and with a few updates to the app, it could become even more versatile and user-friendly. This is undoubtedly a cool gaming accessory and a unique Christmas decoration that can add a touch of personalization to your desk or wall.
