No help for subs. Held to a higher expectation than teachers, yet you are a sub! Most teacher dress like Adam Sandler, yet I have to have slacks and collared shirts. I dress better than the Principals in their cargos. Worse part is you sign up for a 7th grade math class and the school just plugs you into a 1st class with 4 pages of scheduled work and recess duty. Yet they ding you if you don’t get everything done. Zero help with discipline or “hard” students. And you can’t cancel or say no to the switch; or if you do get a school to cancel the job, there are no other jobs left. Worse part is schools and teachers can review you or say what they want about you and you are guilty … period. They won’t even tell you what they said or what you did. Plus the new system, if you don’t log in before 6am, you get zero jobs. You also can’t see all the jobs available, you get put in a line? And they show you one job at a time and if you decline, you get moved the back of the line! Ridiculous! Stay clear!
I wish I could mark times and not just days I am unavailable. Because there are many days where I can only do a half day, but I either have to mark “unavailable” in order to not be bugged by notifications, or I have to just keep getting bugged by the incessant notifications for jobs I can’t take. Please fix this and let us add times we are available please on the days where we aren’t available the whole day. Also, please let us choose how often we want to be notified. It’s like seriously every dang minute I get a notification when a job comes available. Also, pay certified teachers what we should get paid. I hardly want to take jobs because of how little they pay. Salt Lake county school districts pay at LEAST $180 per day for certified teachers.
A great way to make money! I can see the school, it’s distance, and what grade I’m subbing for so I am able to take jobs based on my preferences. The sub support team is amazing and always helpful in solving problems! I had a school cancel on me day of when I was already on my way and dressed and Rachel was able to quickly divert me to a different job and got me partial pay from the first one to compensate my time. I am in nursing school while I do this and this is the only reason I can have a job right now with my hectic school schedule! The only downside is having to sort out your own taxes. I wish there was a way to withhold or reserve them automatically so when I file taxes next year I can just submit that withheld money but that’s alright.
