I have played this game for probably thousands of hours. Merge games have a tendency to go on forever and be very redundant as it is, but I thought something might be up when I noticed that the levels are not linear. It goes up to a certain point, then it starts counting in a completely different way. I have been playing this for months daily, and I'm on level 10.I have been on level 25. It's not well structured. When I finished upgrading all of my buildings, and there was all the space in the back that didn't open and I couldn't build any new houses — had not been able to build new houses for a long time — I thought maybe I had to buy all of the additional properties that are on the right side of the game board. So I merged and collected rents until I could afford that. I noticed I wasn't able to build a house or do much of anything else on that land, but I thought maybe that was because I have to clear them all first even though there were no instructions about it, I did that. Still stuck. All the land behind the castle, still foggy. Twice during this I emailed tech-support to ask them what was up with this game and never got a reply. Honestly, I think this is like a ghost town in more ways than one. You will invest hours and hours and it will be very unfulfilling because it goes nowhere, and the story ends abruptly in a way that is so unsatisfying that you don't know it ended. Clearly once I had gotten to like a certain level in the first grouping, it must've ended. George Lucas shows us that you can tell a story pretty much forever, but you have to know how. I should've been done with this a couple of months ago and I had no way of knowing for sure. I would advise that you just don't start. It has great potential but it really goes nowhere.
I never ever write reviews but I’ve been so impressed with the game and dev feedback. Watching the game grow and improve has been very rewarding, especially as devs keep tweaking to make the game more balanced. I don’t really have many complaints but with the new happiness meter I think there should be more options to get town happiness points. If you could get a point for clearing bushes, two for clearing trees, three for clearing rocks, and then a big chunk of points for each area cleared based on the size. Also having the option to buy decor to increase happiness is great but I’d love to see the happiness points a little more balanced, especially given the cost of decor compared to upgrading buildings. If I get a bush/flowers/etc for 4 happiness points originally, it’s frustrating to see the price of bushes/flowers/etc increase and the number of happiness points decrease. There also is an imbalance with the number of dusters you can get compared to booster shards and scissors. The booster shards and scissors will always be useful, but once you clear the board I don’t see many uses for the duster other than taking up spaces in the mages cauldron. Either way, very pleased with the gameplay and I’m excited to see what you guys do next!
