PennyLocator

I’ve been collecting pressed pennies for YEARS and I knew I was missing so many machines, I just didn’t know where to look. The websites are very outdated and hard to understand but when I found PennyMe I was astonished! Everything I could need in one spot! AND FOR FREE!!! The map is so much easier to look at than any of the sites I’ve seen and the interface is very simple and intuitive for beginners to play around with. I loved the ability to see my stats and it made me feel more proud to be a pressed penny collector. ***Improvements*** I would love to see more work done to the information pages for each machine. Others have mentioned it but being able to see more than one photo helps when collecting. Information about the location’s schedule would also be useful. One thing id like to see in the future is a system for tiers or levels. Users could collect and submit more information about machines and their pennies to reach higher levels. Maybe there could even be a way to digitally take a photo of your pennies and that would make a digital copy for a digital collection on the app, allowing others to view the designs and vastness of other people’s collection. Just an idea for the devs. Overall an amazing app and I’d love to see future updates and developments

This app is so helpful, I love collecting pressed pennies and it’s awesome to find presses that I would’ve missed otherwise! Theres a few features I wish were on the app: 1. A collection option to digitally track all of the pennies you’ve collected and their locations. Similar to the penny books you can purchase, but this way you could see your collection in the app. 2. An area for users to add specific information about the location’s hours. We went to a few spots where the press was inaccessible due to the location being closed. 3. When posting a photo to the location, it seems that only one person can upload the picture. I wish there was the ability for everyone to upload their photos as they wish! Although I have a few recommendations, I do think this app is a lot of fun and a great way to discover new penny press locations!

I am currently digital nomad-ing my way around the world and this app makes me SO HAPPY. I started smashing pennies on train tracks when I was a kid and now smooshed pennies have become something I nostalgically collect when I travel. Being able to open this app and see the nearest penny machines makes this hobby so easy! I also like the links to the website that show more details about location + design. Would be nice to see that in the actual app, but I literally don’t care. I’m just happy the app with the map exists :)
