This app has many features that make it worthwhile. Various settings allow a user to customize to their needs. One of the options is choosing the book one is studying from. I am using a JLPT book and this app allows me extra practice. The JLPT option in the app is also well fleshed out, going beyond JLPT kanji so that there is over 3000 kanji to study. The other thing I love about this app is the accuracy in tacking my writing. Whether I use my Apple pencil or a finger, the app accurately tracks what I’m writing. The most important thing is that I also want to use the app. The interface is clean and its simplicity encourages me to open it up and study.

I have been studying Japanese on and off my entire life and this is the best system I’ve come across yet for committing kanji to memory. I’m also mastering stroke order, some thing I’ve never been able to fully commit to memory until now, and the touchpad system for tracing the strokes are translating nicely into writing the Kanji more beautifully on paper with a calligraphy pen. I’m so happy this is free

My chosen app for practicing my kanji. It has a lot of amazing features and is by far the best that I’ve used. This is because it gets right to the point and teaches you the shapes and stroke orders in an effective way, and can do so with lists that align with your learning resources. The biggest thing missing is customizable on the SRS timings. I’d love to have down grain control like the review timing list in Anki, but having some ways to control the review periods and the speed of introduction of new kanji would be useful for my middle-aged brain. Also, I’d love to have a way to introduce my own kanji into the lessons. I have some vocab words and kanji that are relevant to me, but don’t appear in the pre-built lists. Being able to overlay my own kanji into or between preset lessons would be the dream, but I’d even take custom list management, especially if I could import the list from a simple file I can generate/manage on my own. Still, despite my feature requests, I still rate this over the many paid apps I’ve tried.
