cycle.travel - map and planner

I live in Denver, CO, USA and though there are hundreds of miles of bike paths and bike lanes on the roads throughout the area connecting a route to get from point A to point B can be a challenge. This App is great. When I ask for a round trip it gives me loop rather than a simple out and back. The maps show all of the route options so I know where a trail goes when I cross intersecting trails. The audio directions and alerts, even while listening to music, allow me to turn off the screen. I really like that it’s easy to see and plan with/around EuroVelo routes and other cyclist centered routes/bike paths. For this, this is the best app. I would like for it to be more user friendly in planning from the phone or iPad for example, using it on the fly on these devices makes it clunkier and not as easily accessible/plannable. As well as (and this is quite annoying) - it should translate languages that are using different alphabets (like Greek, Cyrillic, etc)…it’s really hard not to have the latinized/romanized version for non-native speakers (at least in parallel with the original) and try to decipher where you’re actually going if you find yourself in Balkan countries for example.

I’ve tested a lot of bike apps and so far this one generates the best paths that I’d actually feel safe riding for errands or commuting. Most apps focus on the shortest distance or generate routes with extremely dangerous segments or crossings. Its very hard to find apps which have minimal yet intuitive controls to start and finish navigation as well, and this one does a great job. I’m looking forward to using this to explore my area more.
