Poker Power Play

Poker Power is an incredible app and company that is truly changing the game for women. Jenny Just is absolutely right that women have historically been left out of places where major decisions are made, like the boardroom, the golf course, and the poker table. In her TED Talk, she outlines this issue and her mission to teach one million women how to play poker. With this app and Poker Power's live events, that vision is becoming a reality. I wish this app existed 20 years ago when I was searching for books on how to play Texas Hold’em while quietly learning as a new mother and business owner. Now, with Poker Power, I’ve not only been able to play with my girlfriends who had never played before, but we can meet virtually on the app, play against each other, and catch up on life while having a blast! I’m not a big gamer, so this has become the perfect “game” for us. For those who already play poker, this app is a great tool to keep your skills sharp. I like to play poker tournaments, and Poker Power helps me stay fresh and practice my strategy. What’s even more impressive is that my friends learned for free using the app, and we’ve been playing for years without spending a dime. The app’s virtual classes, which I did pay for, were worth every penny. The instructors are real poker pros and successful businesswomen who love the game and want to help others succeed. Poker Power even hosted a live event during LA Tech Week in Los Angeles, which was so much fun! Some of us were experienced players, while others were just learning, but the event brought us all together. Huge thanks to Jenny Just, her daughter, and the entire team behind Poker Power for creating this platform. I’m excited to see the premium features rolling out soon! If you're a woman who’s curious about poker, or if you already play and want to improve, I highly recommend downloading the app. Whether you want to learn, practice, or just have fun, Poker Power is the perfect place to start.

I’ve loved seeing so much newness on the app, so I felt compelled to write a review. Here are some of my favorite features: 1. Being able to host a private game to catch up with my friends across the country is really fun, especially with the added video functionality. It’s like a FaceTime but we’re playing an engaging, lighthearted (yet competitive) game.2. I’ve also had a group download the app at the dinner table and join one of the open games and we battled it out. 3. I like that I can set up calendar reminders for the live community games - it’s a fun way to practice with other people, which I prefer over playing against the boys (I mean bots! But I’m keeping the typo lol)4. And finally it’s pretty cool to track my total hands and streaks, biggest win and best hand on my profile. I can’t wait to get over 10k on my biggest win (I saw someone on social had over 35k!)😱It’s also just a great conversation starter and I find myself bringing up poker way more than I thought I would after reading more about it. And seeing it pop up more in my daily life. I can’t wait to find ways to play more in person games and maybe even start my own poker night - and know I can go to the hand rankings card on the app if I ever need it.🤣Feedback: I’m excited to see more content in general on the app, especially anything that directly translates to how practicing this game can help in everyday life / biz esp as an entrepreneur.But I see SO much potential so I’m throwing in a 5 star! Especially with so many new additions like the Daily 3-card Pokerish game, which is a great add-on to my Wordle habit 😇

Overall, I like this app a lot. I find it intuitive, informative and fun. I rope my friends into downloading and playing too- it’s that fun. A few suggestions that would really improve the playability of the app: - Once it becomes your turn, the call button pops up RIGHT where the prefold button just had been. I’ve started to hit prefold MANY times right as it changed and accidentally called. - The chat feature needs work. I’d prefer if it could pop up at the bottom and not disappear right away- give you time to actually read the message without having to navigate to a separate page. These fixes could turn this into a 5 star app, imo.
