Momently - Journal / Diary

Nowadays you can hardly find any apps that won’t immediately ask for your personal information, set up an account with them and then pay a subscription to use the apps service…. It’s so refreshing to pay for an app once and get what was advertised to you with no strings attached and without constant notifications. other apps need to take notes because Momently does everything right

Really great concept and a beautiful design (along with a nice accompanying website). The app has a minimal design (which I like) but great feature set. Before I was writing and adding photos to my journal app Diarly but switched to Momently. One big benefit over doing it in something like a journal is the profiles feature. There isn’t really any lock-in which is great. You have some exporting options to some apps but if you don’t use those you have a backup which is a JSON file along with an assets (images) directory. The JSON file opens many doors to extracting what data you want. I highly recommend trying Momently.

I’ve been looking for a affordable journaling app for a long time. I like this one, specially the ability to tag people. However I really miss a real tagging system and automatic weather metadata. It would also be great a more compact view on homepage and a calendar view, and the ability to create different journals.
