I am not exaggerating when I say that I've always had trouble waking up easily. I've tried everything from loud alarms, solving puzzle alarms, walk a certain amount of steps to shut off alarms, but I always managed to go back to sleep. Nuj is the only thing that has worked for me. It's brilliant. Alarm gets locked at the final hour so you can't cheat the system. I'm forced to get out of bed, go downstairs and scan the product. 9 out of 10 times I just start my day unless I'm exhausted and need to go back to bed. With this app I started waking up at 4:30 am consistently for a whole month and before this I was waking up at 8/8:30 am. That is a huge achievement for someone who loves to sleep in! I'm so grateful for the maker of this app, Noel. He's also incredibly understanding when on a couple of occasions I've missed the alarm he's not only quick to respond but also makes exceptions on cancelling the penalties. Of course, as long as you're reasonable about it. Anyway, this is hands down one of the most helpful app on my phone that's helping me become a morning person.

“Life Changing” gets tossed around a lot about many things. But its a phrase I’d consider using when it comes to using this app. Once I am awake - I am good to go - but its always the the getting out of bed that is the problem for me. My bed is just too warm and comfortable to get out of bed at times. But this app changes that for me. When it goes off I head into the bathroom to scan a barcode to turn off the alarm. With other apps, it was just way too easy to turn the phone off completely - that is where Nuj separates itself with the back end credit card processing. I don’t typically enjoy paying for apps - but when I am properly using the app, it allows me to have about an extra 90 minutes in my day that I am able to be up and productive before the kids. That is about 45 hours a month - that is a life changing amount of time for $5/ month. The developer is extremely responsive and helpful which is such a bonus! THANK YOU SO MUCH, NOELLE! I've been on the hunt for the perfect solution to my morning snooze habit for years. Despite trying everything - sunlight alarms, alarm clocks that talk, alarm clocks that play birds, favorite songs, weird gadgets, an alarm that counted my steps… everything. Either I would get used to the alarms and start ignoring them, or they were so distressing that I had to hide from them... in bed. Training myself to respond differently to a cue after practicing snooze for 40 years isn’t easy. This alarm isn’t instant, but nothing that works to rewrite a habit ever is. Nuj is easily customizable. I figure out how much time I need, how many alarms will lift me out of sleep and over I can make an intentional choice, I work to find exactly how much motivation i need. I don’t think I’ll ever be a person who gets it dialed in and everything’s great from then on, but it’s so easily customizable, that I can hone in what works for me, and make it do exactly that. Nuj can be a Life changer!

1. Set an alarm time, and a get up time
2. Add a challenge to prove you got up, e.g. a barcode you have to scan
3. Set a penalty
4. If you don't prove you got up by completing the challenge, e.g. scanning one of the barcodes, by the get up time, you get charged the penalty
For example:
1. Set an alarm for 7:00am with a get up time of 7:05am
2. Add the toothpaste and shampoo barcodes
3. Add a $10 penalty
4. Alarm goes off at 7:00am
5. Get up and scan the toothpaste barcode before 7:05am. Or, don't, and lose $10 (goes to charity)
