The UI is greatly improved over how it used to be. I guess I have two complaints. When viewing an instructor’s comment it’s hard to tell what workout the comment refers to much less particular exercise. It would be nice if the comment pop up had the workout title and a way to tag the particular exercise. The other issue I have I think impacts motivation quite a bit: The “streak” feature doesn’t count you having completed a workout unless you fill it in that day. It doesn’t just check back to see how many you completed in a row - you have to have filled it in that day. Just because a person records a workout the following day does not mean they didn’t complete the workout the day of. I assume many people squeeze in a workout before work then have to rush back and the day gets away from them. Their next opportunity to fill it in maybe at breakfast the next day. The streaks feature should count workouts completed not by when you recorded it.

I’m using this app because my trainer uses it. So I’m evaluating it as an end-user, not a subscriber - he’s the one paying for the app, I’m the one using it. Overall it suits me quite well. My coach sets up a schedule with various exercises each day. I log my results, which he can see of course. I can easily look at my past results for each specific app so I can see, for example, if I’m at a point where I can bump the resistance up and how much. From that standpoint it’s doing a fine job. Where the app falls short, is no HealthKit integration. Like so many, I use Apple Watch to monitor my activity & historical results. But, I have to open Workouts FIRST - start a “Functional Strength Training - Open” or “Indoor Walk - Open” or “Indoor Cycle - Open” or whatever matches the assigned workout - THEN I can open CoachRX and go through that interface. Cumbersome & unnecessary. If the coaching app were MY decision - I’d keep looking on this basis. I have no idea how CoachRX’s reporting to the coach differs from other apps - but from the standpoint of the person BEING coached, there’s a big missed opportunity.

This app has a lot of potential but is absolutely flooded with bugs and glitches. Almost to the point of it being unusable. From setting up clients, creating lifestyle prescriptions, updating programs and adding to programs, it’s utterly riddled with bugs. It’s to the extent that my clients are flooded with complaints and rightfully so. What I’ve had to carefully measure is the potential utility of the program worth all the bugs and inadequacies that is dealt with daily. It certainly deteriorates the quality of the program on the clients end as often their data disappears, my video links don’t work, or the information fails to save to name a few. I’m not quick to leave reviews but having suffered and held on for this long and still have yet to see much improvement I felt compelled in this instance to. They advertise as by “coaches for coaches” and that seems true because the potential is sky high but I wish there were was more people involved with programming competence because the app in its current state is nearly rendered unusable. In our industry our quality of service is required to be sky high but the app is falling dismally short of that.
