Calm Kids: Mindfulness & Yoga

I highly recommend Calm Kids. Not only does it have the endorsement of therapists, but the team is always making improvements based on customer feedback, making it the best possible program for children's health and wellness.

I REALLY wanted to love this app to help my anxious kid calm at bedtime. BUT the content of some of the stories is VERY questionable, especially for anxious children. My child was in an anxious panic last night because the story she was listening to was about mermaids sinking ships. Certainly you and I know that mermaids don't sink ships but an anxious kid trying to drift off to sleep now can't calm their worries because they have to worry about sea creatures upending their boat the next time they are on the water. At that point I wasn't too concerned, I hadn't read the full story and mermaids are a common theme in kids books...but tonight I walked in to see the following on the page "the king's son was beside himself in pain, and in his despair, he leaped down from the tower. He escaped with his life, but the thorns into which he fell pierced his eyes". I'm not sure who thought this would be an appropriate story to use to get an anxious child to calm? I really love the idea of a children's app to help calm little minds but this one needs to do more proper research and editing.

 I purchased this app for my eldest son (9 yrs), who finds it challenging at times to keep a positive mindset. Every evening before bedtime we now dedicate a 5-10 min & so far,‎ ‭ he has been enjoying it a lot. I can’t recommend it enough to anyone who’d like to nurture a positive mindset in their children!‎ ‭ ‎ ‭⁣⁣⁣⁣　 ‌
