Student Driving Logger

So I am a student driver and I just started driving about four months ago. I’ve been using the Driving Logger app since I got my permit and I haven’t had any problems with it. I was just driving to a football game with my dad on the highway and we switched halfway through the drive, so I was driving for an hour and 45 minutes. I was just looking through all of my drives and I clicked on the day that I was driving to the football game and it said I drove for an hour and 43 minutes and 310 miles. I was like ok that would mean I was going an average of 180 mph and that doesn’t sound right. So I was just stressing for about 15 minutes trying to figure out if my math was wrong, but it wasn’t so I went back on the app and looked at the map of where I was driving and it showed that I was driving on two different highways at the same time and that I was getting off of the highway and then getting back on several times. So I did some research and found the spot on the road where I stopped driving and I was actually driving for a total of 100 miles but the app said that I was driving for a total of 310 miles. I’m glad that I found that problem and I’m hoping that the creators read my review and try to fix that because it really stressed me out.

When my sister started driving she used her stop watch and wrote it down. When I started my friend referred this app to me. It is incredible! The features it has and the stats it shows are super cool. I like having the “notes” field because I put what car I drove and who I drove with (e.g. Nissan Armada - Mom). A few things to improve on: It would be nice to add a field for the car, even choosing from cars you add. Adding a field for who you drove with. The location/distance info is not very accurate unfortunately. It’s a cool concept but it lost my location a few times, and showed I drove on streets I didn’t go on. Something really cool to add would be an Apple CarPlay app so that you can start/edit your drives right from there! This is a great app especially for free! The ads got a bit annoying but well worth the $1.99 to remove them. I’m happy to leave this feedback for the developer to improve for the next users, but I just had a sad realization that I’ll never get to see the improvements to this app because I’ll no longer need it. Well thank you to the developer for making such a great app, and thank you for making my life so much easier.

This app consistently kicks me out while we’re in the middle of our drive and then deletes whatever info it has recorded up to the point where it randomly kicks me out. The first couple times it happened I thought maybe it was just a fluke. This has happened probably 12 to 15 times now, and I officially hate this app! I have the newest iPhone available so I know it isn’t that I have an old phone that can’t support whatever this app needs. My husband has the same app for our son and it consistently kicks him out as well. I have to manually go in and log his drives, which means the GPS won’t be a part of the record and I’m recording what I think he’s driven and not his exact drive. Lastly, if they’re going to put work into this and improve it then another thing they could fix would be merging multiple accounts. Since my husband and I are using the same app for the same child it would be nice if our information would transfer so we didn’t have two independent driving logs to keep up with. I think having an app to log the driving record of your child with a drivers permit is an amazing idea, but this app has a long way to go before it’s helpful.
