Reviews: What People Think About Flashtex: Study Flashcards

Rating: 5/5
I absolutely adore this application. It has saved my life and has been by FAR better than quizlet and many other flashcard apps that I have tried to find. I will say though that there are some glitches here and there, nothing too insane. For example, when i click "Preview card" it will go to the preview then glitch and go back to the home page, so I would have to reclick "Preview card" then it will work again. Also sometimes the cursor will not let me click a specific spot in my notes but other times it will let me. As long as these minor bugs are improved I would say that the unlimited version is well worth my money. So far I'm really liking it, but I would like to see the developer fix these minor bugs.

I would really appreciate a way to look through cards one by one in a deck while also having the option to easily edit them. Presently, there is an option to look at all your cards for a deck, which doesn't let you edit them while doing so, or you can go one by one through your cards and edit them, but to move on to the next card you need (1) to hit a back button to view all cards, (2) select the new card, (3) hit edit, (4) hit save, and then (5) hit back, and then repeat the process. If you could at most have to hit edit and submit once and then move on to the next card with a, I don't know, "next card" button or shortcut, then that would be nice. Even better if you could view all cards in an edit mode. Maybe there's already a work around for this, so take this request with a grain of salt––assuming this review will ever be read, which is unlikely. The other more serious request I have is that I you should be able to move cards between decks. Add an option on a card to "move this card to another deck" or after selecting a deck to "select cards to move" or something like that. It would be tremendously helpful I think. Notwithstanding my requests and issues, this is a great app if you would like to, as the name of the app suggests, create flashcards that have latex functionality.

Flashtex is truly brilliant! I've been using it for almost a year, and it has genuinely helped me ace various exams. Thank you for creating such an invaluable tool.
I have two suggestions that would make it even better:
* Text Highlighting: Please add the ability to highlight text directly in the edit section with various colors, similar to this orange example: .
* Custom Card Order: Could you please implement a custom ordering option (along with name, date, etc.) where I can manually drag and drop flashcards to arrange them in my preferred sequence within a list?
Keep up the amazing work!
About Flashtex: Study Flashcards
I failed plenty of exams simply because I didn’t have a study system that actually worked, until I discovered flashcards and built this app.
If you’ve ever sat in the library wishing your study setup wasn’t a chaotic mix of screenshots, half finished notes and 20 open tabs, Flashtex is the app that finally fixes that.
Download now or keep failing exams.
Think of it as your reliable place to learn flashcards the way real university students study: actual equations, real cases, real diagrams, real vocab. Not just simple Q&A cards.
You can write cards in LaTeX, structure them neatly with Markdown, add images or even draw diagrams by hand.
It feels natural, fast and actually enjoyable to use.
Instead of forcing you into some rigid workflow, Flashtex just adapts to your style, whether you’re more of an Anki person, a Quizlet convert or someone starting fresh.
With spaced repetition built in, you study less but remember more.
Everything syncs automatically across iPhone, iPad and Mac, so you can revise on the bus, in the hallway before class or during that awkward 4 minute break between lectures.
Whether you’re memorizing anatomy, reviewing legal cases, solving physics problems, drilling algorithms or learning a new language, Flashtex keeps your study routine sharp without overwhelming you.
HOW IT WORKS
– Create your cards:Write flashcards exactly the way you think: LaTeX for maths & physics, Markdown for clean structure, handwriting for quick sketches or images when visuals help. Perfect for med school notes, case law references or step-by-step proofs.
– Build organized decks:Set up decks for every class, topic or exam. No limits, no clutter.
– Smart spaced repetition:Flashtex figures out when you should review each card so you don’t forget. You stay on top of things without drowning in constant revision.
– Study anywhere:iCloud keeps everything synced. Works offline too, so terrible campus Wi-Fi can’t stop you.
