Update: So according to the developer response they had an issue the day I was trying update the app which led to my problems and several others based on how many bad reviews posted the same day. It would have been good to send out a notification that they had issues and that would have alleviated a lot of user frustration. Now that I have used the app for several days I can say that the bug I was experiencing has been fixed! The app was constantly showing the wrong time (3 to 5 hours off) but now it’s syncing correctly. I would have given 5 stars except for the lack of communication over their system issues. Well, that was not fun. I installed the latest update and when I restarted the app it froze. Closed and restart the app and it opens but says I have no equipment connected. I checked the settings and there is no information, everything is blank. Ok so I try all the standard stuff to get it working. Uninstall and reinstall the app, log out of the app, log back in and get an error. Do a shut down and restart my iPhone (SE current software update). The app opens and starts showing the air quality and the weather. It says my system is online but doesn’t connect just shows spinning dots. I checked the thermostat and it’s online so I restart the Wi-Fi. It works! The app is now connected to the thermostat and has the correct time! But seriously I shouldn’t have to do all that!

The app works perfectly with one exception. It does not allow you to change the order in which the wall controls appear in the app. For homes with multiple zones and wall controls, that limitation is impactful. It should be as simple as selecting a wall control and dragging it into the preferred position, but the app does not have that feature. The first representative I spoke with at Carrier said the wall controls are listed in the order you enter them. I was told to delete the wall controls and add them back in the order I want them to appear. I did that several times but it didn’t work. I tried changing the names of the wall controls before adding them back in case the app defaults to alphabetical order, but that also made no difference. I contacted Carrier again and was told they are aware of this limitation and suggested that a future update might allow for custom ordering of the wall controls. There have been several updates since I contacted Carrier about this, including today’s update to version 1.8.11, but the app still doesn’t allow for custom ordering of the wall controls. Other than that the app is great.

The app will display my settings so I know it is at least connecting to the thermostat but anything I set in the app does not get applied to my system. I always have to go to the thermostat and change the settings. So…I guess I can at least see the outside temperature on my phone. I’ve been through several updates and it has never worked. It would also be nice if Face ID could be enabled since it consistently loses the login. Not that it matters since I give up on using this app. Update: I installed the 1.4.4 update and finally changes I make in the app actually make it to the thermostat. It took several minutes for the change to propogate but in the previous versions they never did. It's getting better! Now if they would enable Face ID login. Update: Spoke too soon. Sometimes it works, other times no. Glad Carrier's equipment is not like this app. Update: Still inconsistent. Works 70% of the time for a few weeks then quits working altogether.
