Stud Finder゜

Not as good as an actual stud finder but it works! Here’s something that I hope helps. Take a nail or something metal, and hold it still in one hand. Set your sensitivity to 50%. Slowly move your phone forward towards the nail till it beeps. Take note of how far away it was. Consider also the thickness of the wall the paint, etc as you readjust the sensitivity. Try it again till you get a close-ish approximation of how far you’d be holding your phone from an actual stud in the wall. For me it turned out at 80%. Saw for some it turns out to work at 70-75%. But every phone and every wall is different. Measured several sections of wall and marked each point my phone beeped. Sure enough it formed a pretty even pattern and vertically every stud was around 16 inches apart. Not bad!

I was trying to mount a wall rack for my tv and I needed to find the studs in my wall. I found this app and while I ultimately did end up finding studs and successfully mounting my tv with the help of this app there were several issues. I recommend setting the sensitivity between 75-79% any higher than that and the detector will tell you every spot in the wall has studs, well in my case anyway 😂 also the detector was off by several inches the first time I drilled and I drilled into the wall with no studs there, so double and triple check with multiple sensitivity levels before you drill. Other than all that I would recommend

Yes I understand that I was only using the freePortion of this app but the restraints and restrictions on the Freeside and it not measuring or actually detecting studs depth any of the things that it was read saying it could do I’m very disappointed in this even though I was only using a free section imagine I paid for how much more I would’ve been disappointed I hope you can fix the bugs because it seems like a very cool app get everything straight and maybe make it free because if people wanted to stud finder they go buy a stud finder make it better than what a stud finder is above and beyond something that everyone’s gonna want because it’s better than getting a laser lock to start finding distance measuring Ryobi contraption which I also own actually I own the one that also connects to the phone that does the entire room measurements heights distances depth angles degrees what Hass to be cut you got a lot to go I have faith
