the apps great but I’m trying to organize my podcasts and I can’t rank them or sort them by ratings but you can for movie or apps or other categories. I end up having to use the movies category and manually add podcast to it over and over because I can’t sort by rating in the podcast category. I don’t understand why this is even a thing and why it’s not a default sorting option in every category. And now when I go into my podcast category it always says “movies” at the top and it bothers me so much but I have no other choice but to just deal with it because otherwise if I use the actual podcast category, I can’t sort them by rating anymore. And I feel like making a custom category is very limited in this and doesn’t even feel like a custom category. It feels like a bookmarks category and a to do list category. It doesn’t feel like i’m even making my own. So that needs improvement too. Other than these things, I love the app but these things need to be updated please.
I use this app to organize all the media I consumer, in lists such as what to buy, what to watch, and what I have already watched. I also have a list going of my favorite media of all time. Listy seems to cover everything I want, without being too oversaturated with gimmicks and settings. It has a clean interface that fits in nicely with first party Apple software. Only issue I have is the video game database isn't as complete as I would like. If you mostly play well known games or modern games, you should be fine. I tend to play more retro, indie, and obscure stuff and not everything is in the database. Sometimes more well known games are only in the database as a single entry when there are different versions of that game. For example, Dragon Quest 1 has many different versions going back to the 80s, so the NES game is very different from the Nintendo Switch game, an I would prefer to track those as separate games, but the app doesn't have them both. You can easily get around this by editing the entry after you add it to your list, but it would be nice to have default entries. I am guessing this has to do with what ever database the dev has chosen. Perhaps in the future they could use a more complete third party database.
Big fan of this app: being able to organize all of the media that I want to consume in one place is great, and the integration to the various media databases is an awesome bonus. The sorting of items in lists (I want to be able to drag and drop for manual sort) and how they display the number of items in each list (still counts watched items towards total) can be a little confusing, but after some play I’ve got it to how I want more or less. Some things I would like to see: web/desktop app, ability to manually sort large widget, some sort of consuming list (like the shelf on the sofa app) so that I can keep track of shows/books/albums I’m currently consuming, be able to see where to stream shows/movies in app. Also would absolutely buy premium if it wasn’t a subscription (would like to use notes to mark what day of the week certain shows come out); I’m just on too many subscriptions so sticking with the free tier for now.
