Switched recently from a competitor

I had been using another alternative solution for ~5 years. They recently limited the number of bank logins allowed in their free package to two. This in my view fundamentally undermined their value prop. So I started looking for alternatives. I saw that I could actually build a Google Sheet that connected to the open banking APIs so I was going to go down that path, but then I came across with Snoop and decided to give them a go first. I was really impressed by how quickly I connected my cards and how accurately my expenses were automatically categorised. Also really like the dashboard, in particular the visual charts that compare this month vs last month. I'm in digital product management as well and therefore I'm no stranger to the revenue pressures that product teams get from the business. In the case of a budgeting app, however, the primary value prop to the user is the fact that you can use the tool to save money + this sort of data can be pulled fairly easily today into free platforms like Google Sheets. So, spending money on a budgeting app really starts making sense if I stand to also gain financially from that investment (e.g. get better offers on my running costs, have my investments managed at a lower commission fee, explore new revenue streams, etc.) Working on the B2B side, I would also assume that the data you guys collect on spending begaviours could be incredibly valuable to some companies and government agencies even at the aggregated and anonymised level. So my suggestion to the Snoop Product folks is - firstly keep up the great work and please say no to your commercial folks when they come up with great ideas such as limiting bank logins :) There are always win-win opportunities for generating revenue for your business!

So far, so good..!

Was recommended this by a friend. After an initial look over the app for security and data collection, I downloaded and have been able to attach a couple of most used accounts. Attaching your accounts is very straightforward, just have passwords to hand when you do. Once you’ve attached your accounts, the app recognises your bills and types of spending and automatically categorises them into a budget which best reflects your spending habits. You can adjust your budgets as necessary for example I don’t ordinarily spend huge amounts on health and beauty products but I do have several subscriptions and so I’ve adjusted my budget to reflect this but still keeping within my overall spending budget. Top tip, the more information you give the app, the better it works and the more use you’ll get from it such as recategorising certain bills or spending. The app will make recommendations on switching providers for bills etc and there are some deals that you’ll get only through the app but you’re not inundated with adverts which is a huge positive in my opinion. So far, so good..!

Wish I had this sooner!

Myself and husband have different banks and wages and direct debits all over the place! I’m constantly logging into both apps transferring money and seeing what’s going in or out and trying to work out what we have left as spare after bills are paid …..well not anymore! This app a has saved so much time stress and money as you can see instantly after linking both accounts what’s going in and out and allocate all the joint bills and spending to customised folders ! I can see a true reflection now of what we spend on shopping / petrol / treats etc so between both banks with just one click on the relevant folder, I don’t even have to get my calculator out… ever again !!! Well done creators! Very easy to use, link and allocate income and outgoings. I love the fact I can put a little emoji picture for each folder 😂 the little things like that really help you to personalise it for your own ease of use! I’m so impressed!
