The core functionality of connecting to the grill works fine. Temperature adjustment is clumsy, though. The idea of having alerts for the meat temperature probes is very nice, and the software does display the probe temperatures. However, the alerts do not actually alert via the phone. It simply changes the display if you happen to have the application open and are already looking at it. A basic change of having alerts activate a sound on the phone when the screen is locked would add tremendous value to this app.
The latest updates have issues communicating with the controller . Connection to set to f from c, and then set temp is not working most of the time. Now having to set temp and turn on at the controller
Today is day one with the pellet grill. I have gone through the burn off process and while it’s cooling off I decided to try the app. I know there’s a lot making an app, I couldn’t do it, but I must say it didn’t meet my expectations. So far the only benefit I see is monitoring the temperature and shutting the grill off and turning it on. I get errors on a few options. Also I feel the auto shut off should allow for longer time periods and the shut down temperature should have a higher range as well. It’s a start but needs work. I would have probably bought a grill without the WiFi had I known how limited the app would be.
