If you’re like me and stopped going to the gym when COVID hit, finding these in home work out apps seriously saved me. The yoga app is my absolute favorite but I’m starting to use the HIIT app as well and I’m going to check out the Barre app. All of their apps are included in the subscription!!!! By far the best bang for your Buck out there and I HATE paying for subscriptions but this one is 1000% worth it. They show you how to do the poses and guide you through the workout as you’re going. It is fairly different every time but there is some repetition in some of the yoga poses but it’s still entertaining and not boring like going to the gym is for me. You also don’t need equipment except for maybe a yoga mat but that’s it! I definitely recommend these to anyone! Beginners or advanced! ***update - the HIIT app is fantastic. I’ve never done HIIT before but it’s easy to follow and it’s an awesome workout. I still highly recommend these apps. Home workouts are totally possible you don’t HAVE to go to the gym or classes to get a great workout.
I have been in the app ecosystem since it launched many years ago. This has got to be my first app review ever. And I just had to do it because this is the best workout application that keeps on impressing me every day. There’s no competition. I haven’t used any workout app for more than a week. And trust me I’ve used dozens because I was a gym rat before Covid and I’ve been trying to stay in shape since I could not go to the gym. Now, this is the only app I’ve used for about a year now. Why? I don’t even know where to start because it is so feature rich so just check out the product page for details. But if I were to summarize, the clincher for me is the infinite number of combinations of exercises so that no two workouts are the same (bye! bye!! boredom) and also the numerous customizations you can do for skill level, intensity, injuries, time (including recovery time), exercise type, focus on body sections, even up to the music played for each workout!! Add to that the simplicity of the user interface and quality of software, and you have a winner. To top it off, the app also comes with packaged apps for yoga and meditation all included!! Obviously, you can tell I’m a fan, but what made me a fan for life was that I was using a free subscription early last year. When the free subscription ended and it was time to pay, I told them I was canceling because I could not afford it because of Covid expenses. I was expecting to be dropped like a hot potato. Instead, they gave me a six-month extension. In addition to that, I just checked their webpage and they are now giving free subscriptions to students and teachers to help out during Covid. I can’t say enough about these guys. Mega kudos to the team for a killer app delivered with a conscience. I’m a fan for life
I started downdog HIIT (and yoga!) during 2020 when my gym closed, and I’ve been doing it regularly ever since. I take my iPad with me on the road and never have to miss a workout. When my gym re-opened, I didn’t go back. I love that every workout is different, the visuals and explanations are clear, and they constantly add new exercises to the app so I don’t get bored. It’s so easy to dial up and down the difficulty based on how I’m feeling each day, and I love that I can get a challenging workout in with a short amount of time. You can even tell it if there are certain moves you’d like less of. My go-to is full body rotation at level 3 for core and legs and level 2 for arms! Also, Carlos is my favorite voice. I do wish I could skip some songs, but that’s only come up with some of the recently added songs. I’ve only tried the option to add weights a few times and think it could be good, but it’s not in my heavy rotation yet. There used to be an option to download workouts for offline use, but that seems to have gone away in the last few months. Would love to see that come back,
