Normally I would not have left a review or commented on anything. To be honest this looked like the kind of game that shoves adds down it’s users throat to get every oz or money it possibly can. And if it was that kind of game I would have just deleted it and moved on. I understand that most people obviously don’t feel the same about ads as I do if games like these are popular. However my problem with this game is that it gave me hope I have had it for 3 days. On the first two days I got no ads at all. It did give me options to watch ads which I really liked. I had never seen that before in a game. I still chose to watch a good amount of adds ads to help get more gold or purge ads things and I was satisfied by that. The gameplay was never rudely interrupted. Then day three came. Idk if this is the developers or whoever is in charges plan, but a flip switch and when I opened up the game today I was struck with an add after every single “stage”. Keep in mind this wasn’t even the start or end of the game, I did get one at the start and end btw too, but it was in the middle of the literal product, the whole point of the game. After two rounds of playing and realizing that these unbearable interruptions with the most mind numbing ads in the middle of the game was not going to stop I decided I had enough and have officially left my first review ever. That’s for just being another ridiculous ad game shoving things down it’s users throats.
The game is nearly unplayable because of the ad structure. This is not how you make an addicting game. They put so many ads in that any sense of “flow” and continuity is constantly broken so the player has no investment in the game. (After every single wave? Seriously?) They require you to watch ads to upgrade further after you’ve upgraded a tree three times, and ads that they force you to watch (during a match) often have extremely difficutl to press buttons. Shaking, unpredictable areas etc. plus the gameplay is so bland, or at least it is bland to the extent that I could stomach playing. I played a half hour (well, to be accurate I spent a half hour in the app, with 10 of those minutes being spent watching ads) Look I understand the need for monetization, but this clearly is not the optimal model for maximum profit long term. The ad format will actively drive away players so the retention and loyalty will be very low. It seems the creators of this game are relying on a profit model of pump and dump rather than anything long term. Low quality all around. It’s sad because the game seemed to have potential but I just can’t play it.
It’s a great game that I hope to see continued. There is some lag when new enemies spawn, especially on the later tiers, and it can get frustrating sometimes when you try move your units to react and the line gets messed up. Then again my 4-5 year old IPad probably doesn’t help either. So I guess my two only real problem that haven’t been said before are that 1. The arrow showing where the enemies are coming from can be a bit buggy? I guess: e.g. one moment the arrow is showing one direction and the next it’s 5-10 degrees offset of where it was. Not game breaking just sorta annoying. Maybe have a mini map somewhere that shows a bit of the surrounding area with where the enemies on it or something. Up to you guys. And 2. There is no way to move the camera and if there is I couldn’t figure it out. It’s just that it’s annoying because if you deploy too far to one side then have to move to the other side you can’t actually see the other side very well. Maybe add a zoom feature or something like that to fix this as making a way to move camera with like a joystick might interfere with deploying troops. Either way great game and I hope to see more from you guys.
