I have the LG XBOOM GO w/ Meridian sounds fantastic. The app allows access to customize your sound if you want via equalizer and can can change the color scheme of the LED lights along with how the lights blink with the music.
However, you really don't need it all. You can turn off and on their "Sound Boost"physically on the speaker which actually is a nice custom sound that helped everything pop quite a bit.

This app has literally removed rather than added speaker functionality, the app originally paired with my LG GP3 bluetooth speaker and allowed for changing of the LED color displayed, changing the input/connection type used (which is critical for connecting wired to a ps4 which I often did) and even allowed a master volume control that allowed a better control of volume than setting volume ok connected devices.
However, with a recent update every time I now open the app I am told the app is no longer compatible with my speaker. This means all those features above are completely locked away and my speaker was set to a low master volume in the app meaning it is essentially useless as I can no longer adjust that volume, or any of the above settings, without the app. Thanks LG, for making and ruining a great product!!! :)

Speaker associated with app is amazing but with the app you can’t play directly from your iOS playlist, you have to create new playlists within the app.
The worst part is, other things you would expect to use like teams, zoom, monitoring a phone meeting and other resources have no way of playing or monitoring. All of that is a deal breaker for me. If it had those simple capabilities I would rate the app at 4 or 5 stars.
While I love the sound of the associated speakers I’m likely going to return this because of the shortcomings of the app.
