Make sure to setup you home YMCA. It makes reservations for class extremely quick. It also tells you if hours have changed/facilities are being worked on. You can also pull up your barcode for log in. Very easy for 1 user. I wish I could manage my household. (Sign up kids all under my parent account) Also the tracking of workouts isn’t sync d to class attendance. So while I go to the gym often I have a level of zero workouts.
The Hendersonville YMCA is an example of community in action. The staff is courteous and trained to give assistance to participants in many scheduled classes. Individuals with special needs in exercises to restore wellness to strained joints and muscles are given careful attention. I’ve been coming to the Y here for a number of years. I am now 83 and had a knee replacement late 2023 and find the cycle classes a good way to get back in shape. Good place all around. Now the Egym is a splendid addition!!!
With the new app there’s a ton of things I like, for example the group fitness challenges, viewing others activity, and the fitness tracker material rating system (wood, silver, diamond, etc). I wish I could refresh the app more quickly with stats from my Fitbit, instead of waiting hours for it to download that data. I cannot figure out how to change my “home gym” location and find the account/profile settings limited. I think the “fitness class” filter should have the exact class offerings (by title) that the Y offers - I find it difficult to find a class that matches exactly all the time. Could also improve on app crashing issues.
