I’ve been using UserTesting in the app for a little under year and things have been great. I invest a some time before work to clear out all of the desktop and app related surveys and a some time through the day and in the evening to knock out more. Majority of them are available in the morning so you have to hop on them quickly and to the other review were saying that some of the service disappear it’s because the surverys have satisfied their number of test takers or have possibly expired. I’m happy to have made about $250 so far in doing surveys some days I get a one or two and other days I get nothing so just be patient and know that these are legitimate surveys and the companies are looking for a very specific user to test with and timing is everything. Overall, the app I would say is a little bit slow in that when you are declining a survey or not eligible it takes a while until you can click the next survey and sometimes this lag can cause you to decline accidentally so just have to be very careful and patient. Another thing is that sometimes the uploads take quite a long time once I had to leave home and I just let it run on the charger in the car as I drove and it finally uploaded it was at least 15 minutes or so. I also don’t understand why some of the tests that I have declined or am not eligible for will reappear but maybe that’s just the way the software works because it happens on the browser too. Other than that the application works as it should and I’m a bit of a nerd and enjoy helping with the user experience and seeing some of the cool things in production out there. Thanks for the opportunity!
I am new to the app but haven’t had a ton of luck with it. I spent multiple days doing literally nothing but the tests, but still have only earned $10. This is because most of the “eligible” tests disappear in seconds, even when answering another screener shown (and you see it disappear before your eyes). Also, whether on my phone, iPad or the computer, it is not clear which device or browser is needed for the test; so I often have a full list that I can’t interact with regardless of the access method. It also is not cool how much time goes into the screeners only to be eliminated after spending ten, thirty, even sixty minutes answering their questions and then getting nada, zero ($0.00), zilch. I find it very frustrating and don’t know how you could seriously make any money even if all you do is respond to their “tests” and screeners. So not sure if I’ll keep it. But there are screeners and tests that do offer payment, and I supposedly made $10 eventually by doing it all day every day for several days… whether I receive the money remains to be seen but that is why I gave 3 stars…and nothing more (deducted for the extraordinary amount of time needed, and the unknown).
I’ve been using this site and app for a little over a month now and I can take anywhere from 1-6 tests per day. My first month I made over $600 and I’m still making just about that. I’m very grateful to UserTesting for the extra income that has made my financial life just a little more comfortable, and I’m really not dedicating too much of my free time to this. It’s really just a test here and there. The couple of complaints I have is that sometimes the mobile app uploads fail and you’re only given a partial or no payment for these. Also, some customer's tests are very time consuming and before you know it, you’re taking a test that ends up being 35 minutes+ and only getting paid $10 to do it (not to mention it fails to upload and then no payment!). These tests are supposed to be 10-20 minutes long. Many customers will offer a $30-$60 payout for completing the test on zoom which takes 30-60 minutes, so this is appropriate and respectful of the testers time. But I think some of the customers try to squeeze so much information out of a $10 test, which subsequently leads to rushed answers, frustration and lack of quality feedback from the tester. Overall, this is the site I go to first and make the most extra money from. Thanks UserTesting!
