This app could be the thing I’ve been looking for! So far this app is great. I have e been using it as a way to find playgrounds because who doesn’t get bored of going to the same few over and over. I just wish I could label them. All the playgrounds are called playground and you have to click on them to see where they are. I have started reviewing them and trying to upload pictures, putting the name of the playground and it’s equipment and facilities in the review. Just wish I could change the main name of the labels? I know I can “add a place” but then you just end up with duplicates for the same place? As I haven’t used it for any other areas of the app I can’t comment if that’s a thing elsewhere. Still a great app! Edit: I’d love to be able to make a map of my saved places so I can see places nearby at once. Also being able to click on places on the current map and have them take you to the information about them would be helpful.
I selected Use My Location and everything that came up was in London (I’m in Somerset). I thought that maybe this was just an unpopulated new app so I was just about to delete when I thought I’d check the feedback in the App Store expecting to see everyone complaining that it’s just in London. I didn’t see that so was confused… went back to the App and typed in my town manually and low and behold local stuff appeared. So this App might be really good - I’ve given 3 stars because there’s obviously something wrong with ‘My Location’. I don’t think it’s a permissions thing because I didn’t get a message box saying ‘App wants access to your location’ message and in Location Services the App is marked as authorising Location ‘while using App’.
I love the idea of this app- giving you an insight into what to do and where to go when you are in an area you don’t know. And I get that they need people to upload photos. But the description of some areas is highly flawed, inaccurate and does. It allow editing for accuracy. Brora beach is listed as a small, Sandy secluded beach, with toilets and cafe. It is more than a mile long, isn’t particularly secluded, has no toilets and no cafe. It is gorgeous, but I have no way of accurately updating. Most other relevant sites in Brora are not listed, other than a raft of playgrounds, which is hardly of benefit to many tourists.
