Abkhazia isnt country, it’s part of Georgia unfortunately currenlty occupied by Russia. Database of countries consists of static information that merely needs to be updated after once it is collected during the creation of the app, so whoever was responsible for filling that list must at least check current status of such region (even googling would be enough).
