I am a time management coach and Sunsama one of the best digital tools out their. I have been a user for almost two years now. Some of the reviews here talk about the app not being great and please remember - their language is a “companion to the desktop” … not an app on its own! It’s important to remember that going into using this tool or considering it. That being said, the past couple of weeks the companion (app) has been funky. My calendar doesn’t sync properly or takes a while to sync. I use Sunsama as my master overview because it connects all my calendars but it hasn’t been doing that successfully lately. I hope the bugs can be fixed soon. The CEO sends weekly emails with tutorials and fun insights into time management and I love it. The access to him / to ask him questions is such a breath of fresh air compared to other apps where you don’t even know who made it. Sunsama people are GOOD people and they constantly are seeking to improve the tool (I do think they could put more emphasis on improving the app/companion though)

I cannot say enough good things about this app! As someone who struggles with other planners and apps, I’ve found this one to be a perfect fit. There is so much flexibility for every type of processor. I personally prefer using my Google Calendar and tasks, but I’m sure other interfaces work well, too. The time blocking is extraordinarily helpful, as are the 'subtasks'. The different channels allow me to organize my tasks not just in my head, but in something tangible. There are very few presets, and the app is very customizable. The support team is also great. I reached out with a question, and it was answered promptly and thoroughly. For anyone who struggles with executive functioning or brain disorganization, you NEED this app. The subscription is expensive, but very much worth it. I have used dozens of planners in my academic career, and this one has been a lifesaver! I am in my 4th year of college, and I feel so regulated when I use the app. I also love the desktop-to-iPhone app interface. Having ADHD and other mental health challenges can make school planning really difficult, and this app has actually helped. Yay Sunsama!!

I wouldn't go so far as to say the mobile app is "useless", but it is surprisingly underfeatured for how costly Sunsama is ($20/month). The mobile app is not "minimal so you can focus" or anything like that. It is underfeatured. You can't see more than one day at a time. You can't really meaningfully alter your schedule. There is no local cache that I can tell, so if your phone isn't getting wifi or data signal, tough! It assumes you are regularly at a desktop computer to do your planning ritual, but I'm sorry, that's not how the workplace is in 2022! To design your whole app system around that assumption seems naive! If this was a free / cheaper app I'd be a lot more lenient about this, but full individual membership is $20 per MONTH. Sunsama overall is thoughtfully designed with a growing catalog of useful integrations, so that part is well worth the price - but other productivity apps of comparable price have more fully featured mobile apps comparable to their desktop counterparts (Trello, Smartsheet, Asana). I know it is a new app that is in continuing development so I am hoping they make the mobile app more useful soon… but for the time being, beware!
