Lollipop : Link & Match

This has been my favorite game to play for a few years, but I cannot justify playing it anymore. Three times I’m the last 6 months this game has withdrawn $4.99 from my account without my authorization, and without giving me any in-app goods. I reported this each time and received 2 refunds, but Apple won’t refund anymore charges. This might seem like a small amount of money to most people, but I live on a strict budget and allot specific funds for in-app purchases only a few times a year. So I notice every charge that comes through my account. I know how it’s happening too. This latest version has random pop ups to buy coins/packs, as well as a piggy bank. Only once the piggy bank fills up with coins is it eligible to cash out for the price of $4.99. I use Face ID with double click of the side button to approve purchases. As I’m clearing levels and replaying failed levels, occasionally the pop ups will initiate a purchase despite me clicking the X - close button. I always hit cancel. I go back to the game. But I’m the last 6 months the app has begun to charge my account anyway. This was never an issue before this latest version. Also, it was possible to play and win levels in previous versions without having to purchase items. That’s not really the case anymore.

I love how satisfying and addicting this game is. It’s colorful, and has lots of fun music and sounds. However, there are some annoying issues I’d like to point out. I’ll just be blunt: this game seems like a complete rip-off sometimes!! And here is why. On some levels, it is nearly impossible to pass them. When I got to level 115, part of the objective was to dip five marshmallows in chocolate. You do that by dropping them to the bottom of the game board. But when I dipped four of them in chocolate, there was no fifth one. I tried using a few more moves, but it never showed up, and I failed a few times. Fortunately, when I played this level for the fourth or fifth time, there were five marshmallows created, and soon I passed. The next problem was level 117. I still haven’t passed this one. Again, I had to dip marshmallows in chocolate. But this time, there is a hole in the middle of the board. And once the marshmallows appear, they fall in the direction of that hole. Then what do they do? Once they’re above the hole, they just sit there for the rest of the game!! You can’t even move them with blasters. So I always fail involuntarily, and it’s completely unfair! I’m giving this game three stars, because it has a lot of potential. If it could be more fairly laid out, then that would be wonderful.

If you are looking for a good game just to put a smile on your face and have a little fun then you have found one. Games are meant to be enjoyable and aren’t supposed to make you stress but instead relive stress from the day. This game does exactly that. It’s fun and after passing a level that seems impossible to start, it makes you smile. The only drawback is you have to watch videos from time to time but since it is a free game those are expected. So in conclusion I gave it a 5 star rating just because of the enjoyment it brings. I think you should give it a try and be prepared it is addictive.
