I love this app, it’s the only one on the iOS app store that actually blocks ads in various apps without the need of Safari, Chrome, or any other specific browser program. It just blocks the ads everywhere without issue, no matter what. I just wish it offered a flat, one-time-only lifetime payment fee instead of making you subscribe monthly or yearly. I would pay $100+ to this company without hesitation if it was just a one-time payment and nothing more. The monthly fee is “only” $2.99 but it’s still just frustrating because it seems like everything requires subscriptions nowadays instead of one-time payments. I remember a long time ago VPN apps and ad blockers used to be completely FREE to use and that was for the FULL, high-quality service provided, not a reduced quality of service to “penalize” you for not paying up. But all the free ones either disappeared or they started pushing you into a corner to sign up for an annoying subscription plans just to use the absolute bare minimum features, not even the high quality and long lasting features get a simple charge; it’s always tiered off. The more security and privacy you want, the higher and more frequently you have to pay. It’s bizarre tech people complain about privacy being stolen from them and the public by the government but the same tech people make it hard to regain out privacy and security online by charging consumers for things that they know they themselves used to provide for 100% free, no gimmicks. I love this app NextDNS and am so impressed with how it works against its’ competitors on the Apple app store, i just wish better options were available for people who dont want to keep making recurring payments for however long this service may continue to exist. I have this app on all of my Apple devices and would %100 recommend it to anyone and everyone. Its amazing , please just offer a one-time lifetime service payment instead of subscriptions. I’ll pay anything for that and that alone, no matter how many devices! Please! 🙏

It seems like the developer may have abandoned this app since it hasn’t been updated in 4 years and lacks some basic iPhone features that have been introduced since. That aside, the app does what it’s supposed to do if you follow the setup instructions. Now, occasionally, some WiFi networks, apps, and websites will fail to work if the app is enabled. That’s not really the fault of the app. Also, if the app isn’t blocking ads, then you need to go to the website and adjust your libraries; all the app does is redirect DNS queries to the NextDNS website. All the magic happens on the website, not on the app. Finally, if you use a VPN while the app is enabled, the VPN DNS seems to take priority and NextDNS will stop working.

Been using Blokada for a long time but then they decided to make it paid. I can’t surf the web without looking at a bunch of “hot moms near you” ads so I was searching for many alternatives. Sadly, none of them worked. However after a bit of patience and resilience, I managed to find this amazing service. Not only does it provide many blocklists, it has a clean web interface with everything you could possible want from it. I highly recommend this app if you want to block the most ads possible. I recommend using many blocklists to block the most ads possible and also keeping it on most of the time for best results!
