Plunjr - On-Demand DIY Support

We just moved into a home with several small plumbing issues. I hired a couple of different plumbers to fix them and found a good one finally to resolve our problems. When yet another problem arose, a leaking toilet that had been repaired once, and the plumber couldn’t get to us before the weekend. I decided to install a new toilet myself. I’m pretty handy but have not done any plumbing. I had seen this app on Daniel Kanter’s IG stories and decided to give it a try. I downloaded the app and was speaking live to an excellent plumber within 30 seconds. Aaron is knowledgeable, patient, kind, and generous with his knowledge and experience. He reassured me every step of the way. He drew a couple of diagrams, assessed the products that I had on hand to install, walked me through step by step while encouraging me. His instruction and plumber’s tips allowed me to confidently, efficiently, and successfully replace the leaking toilet. He followed up with me to ensure that the installation went well. I cannot recommend this app more highly. If you’re thinking about starting a plumbing job, use the app! A plumber can walk you through the entire job and send you to the home improvement store with a personalized list for your actual store to make sure you have everything you need to complete the project yourself without ten trips to the store and all the frustration that brings. Download this app if you even think you want to tackle a DIY plumbing, electrical, or HVAC job. You will be so happy you did!

I had several smallish plumbing jobs I needed to complete or have completed. I didn’t want to necessarily hire a plumber, as I thought I might be able to do some of the work myself. I spoke with a Plunjr technician on the phone and with video. The experience was great! My Plunjr tech was able to first talk me through a couple of repairs, me taking notes and completing later-success!!; we then proceeded with a video consult for a slightly more complex issue - success again after I purchased the parts and installed them!! Last issue was a “parts” problem which I was not able to resolve on my own. I did receive in-person assistance with this problem -again with success. Throughout my interactions with my Plunjr technician, I was never made to feel uneducated or that I should have known how to do what I needed to do. My tech explained various aspects of plumbing and was a great teacher. Never condescending. I actually felt empowered from this experience- being able to fix things if shown or taught how to do so. So many times we call in an “expert” to do projects for us, when we might be able to complete the project ourselves with a bit of “expert” help. I highly recommend Plunjr if you want to try some plumbing jobs on your own with a bit of help. Plunjr also has great follow up via phone or text.

If you own your own home or have had to pay for plumbing repairs you know how hard it can be to make the call for a plumber when you think it is a small fix. Plunjr is the resolution to that problem! I have used the service twice and each time Aaron was able to help me fix my problem. The first time was a video call and the second time was just by phone. Each time I was able to show him the problem and he was able to give me the next steps to fixing it. The reason I needed the second call was because something else came up while I was fixing it the first time. I texted Aaron on the weekend and he texted me back. He was super gracious and really helpful. Each of these visits would have cost me at least $200, not including the parts. I’m going to be able to fix putting in a new toilet valve and fixing my toilet seat for about $25 total. Sure, it takes my time, but right now I have more of that than I do extra money laying around. There is no question that I will use plunjr even when it goes online and charges per call. This idea is golden.
