Watercolor Jewels™

Love this game. It’s a great way to relax before bed. I’m pretty good at it after years of play. But once iin a while I get a real stinker. If I replay enough times I can usually get lucky and solve it. If I don’t feel like working that hard, I just delete the whole app and reinstall. Not an ideal solution but because it is truly random, there probably isn’t a way to opt for all winnable puzzles. Anyway thanks for many happy hours of enjoyment!

I love Boy Howdy Games. They are, for the most part, great! When I downloaded Water Color Jewels, I enjoyed playing it and figuring out little strategies to win the board. But as I approached the higher levels, I found the game was more about how to keep the board from filling completely up as I waited the pieces that would fit to win the board. And I found that those pieces never came. For me, the game became frustrating as I realized I wasn’t playing the game, I was the one being played. I suppose programming games like this to provide, I don’t know, what a programmer thinks is more challenge but is really just providing frustration to the player. As the levels progress, there are more and more starting pieces to get around. That’s challenging enough without completely withholding the pieces you could use. Also, I too have the pieces that freeze and cannot be removed as other reviewers have stated. Water Color Jewels could be a really awesome game if the withholding of certain pieces were eliminated and the player could use his or her’s strategies to play the game rather than just knowing at the higher levels that the board will fill up no matter what you do and the level fails...and fails...and fails...I would give the game 5 stars if these things were fixed.So, waited a year or so and tried to play again. Lower levels fun but higher levels impossible to even play. I mean you can’t even play as the board fills up as so few places to put all the pieces you cannot use and every piece that comes up, you cannot use. I love most of Boy Howdy games and I’m appreciative they are free and for the most part fun. So I just deleted this game and tried the gin rummy game. As long as I stay with the beginning level, I actually win some! So, kudos! Boy Howdy and thank you!

I have played and enjoyed many Boy Howdy games for years but now I’m getting Sexually Explicit content at the bottom of the screen that has phone and video access with sexy female and male pictures. This game claims to be approved for ages 4+ and if a child or adult accidentally clicks on the ticker tape at the bottom of the screen you will be exposed to sexual content. This developer needs to remove this sexual content or put a age requirement of 18* along with a warning of sexual content. Very concerned and plan to report this developer to the App Store. UPDATE: Developer contacted me and expressed shock but more importantly they followed through with removing offensive adds. Thank You Boy Howdy.
