NAS Pro

I have love hate reaction to app. Lots and lots of data when it works. But every few days it demands 2 factor authentication and when I provide it, it just asks for 2 factor authentication again. And again. And again. And again. So I give up for a few days and usually but not always it works again. And I never get a response from the author of the app. I have emailed them 4 times over three weeks. No response.

If you have a Synology NAS you need this app. I love how it is so detailed with CPU, RAM, Networking, Disk, etc. It shows you all tasks that are running and you have full control over them. The GUI is so intuitive. Just when you think wow this app can’t impress me again, you click on something and an entire new level of detail. You can control everything and the layout is amazing. It’s such a great app. If you have a Synology NAS and you don’t have this app with the paid Pro features, I will pray for you. The Pro features are where it’s at. The amount the God like developer charges is negligible and worth ten times. This app has not only saved me trips to the computer to do a blah blah and I not only can do it from this app I can do it 10 times faster. Well done!! Great app!!

This is a very well done app. Gives a nice glance of the system, and a fairly high level overview. The docker support is an interesting addition. A few things could be improved. Mainly: 1) At the top (top left of the screen), where it shows the model name, also show the host name of the machine too. For example “MACHINEA (DS...)”. If one’s managing multiple synology boxes, this is a much easier way to see what one we’re in. 2) Some extra modules would be nice. Namely: 2a) Some very simple VM support. List, start, stop, status - doesn’t need to have much, but a way to manage it like the docker instances would be nice. Still rating this as 5/5 because it’s an amazing app. Very quick, does the job incredibly well.
