I've been testing the Freestyle Libre 2 for two years. It really helps me manage my diabetes, but there are a few things I would like to change. The first and biggest problem is that the app often loses connection with the sensor, even when the phone is right next to me. The app is supposed to alert me when my blood sugar is too low or too high, but many times I've had situations where the app lost signal, and I only found out about my blood sugar being off when it was already too late. Other things I would add are separate sections for carbohydrates and fat+protein, as well as a place to track how much time I set for a long-acting bolus. Right now, I just write this in the notes, but I think it would be much easier with the solutions I mentioned.
Firstly application after recent update slow down . Long time need to scan sensor and also sometimes after scanning no result or result shows without beep as usually. One important issue which can be implemented - I had this on previous app for classic glucometer and app from Mysugr - is a bolus calculator. Is helpful to quick count carbo /needed insulin and also shows ( approx of course ) how much insulin is still active if time between injection was under the set time. This upgrade is still not visible to me - problem may be on my side because firstly I scan new sensor. And after this but before sensor activate application was updated and as I understand from infobox this feature will be visible from next activation . Beaside this app and overall sensor is really good with enough longlife (14 days is good time period )
The recent fix makes the app veeery slow to react. I have been using it from the very beginning when it was released in my country and it used to be more robust. As for other things, zooming would be nice, as would be the ability to manually add blood results. Again, will there be a version for Apple Watch any time soon? I’m waiting for it for over a year now since my last review :(. Also I have one complaint for the sensor system, it takes 1h to warm up which is fine, but this hour is “deducted” from the 2 weeks. It means that if I run the sensor at 7am (starts working at 8), and if I want to keep my monitoring without 1 h break I need to install the next one at 6am in two weeks. The 2 week period should start only after the sensor is ready to scan.
