I'm Ping Pong King :)

This game is one of the most fun games I’ve played. I downloaded it on a whim and now I can’t stop playing. I love the different names that each level has, Germany’s No. 5, My Dad’s Boss, My Neighbor, they’re all so comedic. The background music is great, it’s nice but it doesn’t distract at all. In terms of graphics, I think this game nailed it. I love how the ball was rendered as a line, it makes it so unique but it makes a lot of sense. The controls are great and simple. Each level gets slightly harder and by the time you’ve hit even level 30, you realize that your reaction time has certainly gotten faster. Mini games! These “tests” are awesome. Not only are they frustratingly difficult, they make you want to try again and again, at least they do for me. I love the bright colors and the minimalist design of this game. The tests are unique and very fun. I have a suggestion, I really like how each level, the opponent has a different pose. I think it’d be really cool if, as you get farther along, you unlock poses too so you also get to pose before playing. It’s a very simple way to customize your character without taking away from the minimalist aspect. Just a thought :) Lovely game, definitely in my recommended list!

Overall, I feel that this is a great and simple game to play for passing a couple minutes such as waiting your turn in line for the doctor or just for when your bored. You could play for a solid 20 or 30 minutes and really get into playing ping pong with the computers. The graphics are smooth and very nice for a free game, so kudos on that! Also, I did enjoy the format of having to beat like your neighbor and professionals to become the Ping Pong King. But, aside from that, I do have some issues with the game. Personally, I wish that the characters had a little more personality. I get that little stick characters are cute/simple and all, but every character is basically just two white circles with arms, legs, and a red ping pong paddle. As a ping pong player, not many games I’ve played had two opponents with the same color paddle every time I’ve played, but that could just be me (which I doubt). As of character design, you can add some diversity the body shapes (and if you don’t want to have an overly complicated stick person, just use a generic female and male type), you can add maybe a ponytail or a hat, or maybe even just shake up the colors a bit. Another thing is that I wish you could be able to play with actual people, have tournaments, or play live with some people nearby. I like that I can be able to play with computers that got harder after each level, but it would be a lot more enjoyable to also have the opportunity to play with others. Other than the issues I have, I found the game quite pleasant overall, with smooth graphics and pretty fun gameplay!

Awesome game that you have to play! Perfect difficulty curve, and a good secret at the end ;). Ads are non intrusive and don’t pop up a huge 30 second ad every time you lose. And yes, I want a second version of this game SO badly. I cried after I beat the game! It was emotional to have beaten the ping pong king as well as the secret. My idea for the second version would be to have a little more control with how the ball plays out. Basically, having a pair of buttons that indicate on which side of the table you want to be in, and then another pair for which side of the table you want to hit the ball to. Make the ball a bit easier to see and slower to compensate. More levels, and as usual add the ping pong king. Don’t add the same secret, but perhaps unlock multiplayer mode at the end, along with a few offline a.i’s in case we can’t play online. Another reviewer by the name of VoodoSucks or something of the sort said that the controls in the first version weren’t intuitive. I don’t think that’s entirely correct, but he or she just said that there wasn’t a control for what side of the table to hit it to. The second version will NOT replace the original, since the original will probably have fewer controls, and plus you wanna try the original anyway because it’s so good 😍. This game is most easily played with two thumbs at each side and certainly not while multitasking (unless you are very talented). That said, for the second version it would make sense to have some two handed controls. Although the first would be easy to play with one hand I suppose it’s more challenging. I’m planning to re-download the game two more times, attempting to beat it with my right and left hands. Good luck with the journey, and hope that you can beat the ping pong king!
