Vector Drawing & Logo Design

Please keep working on this application. (Especially, with the “Transparent” logo. There is no problem with the current “Transparent” feature but I also want a real transparent logo without any background on it). Hope it makes sense. I REALLY want to like this app. ...like, a LOT. Three things take this from being sublime to painful, though. First, you can’t scroll your view of the image; you can only move it around. This makes for some weird snapping issues, so you spend lots of time just trying to deal with it and leaving it centered. Second, when you export your image you can’t export a jpeg or other rasterized format in any arbitrary size. It’s a vector, so let me be as wasteful with my memory as I want. And third (...and the one that really crushes my soul) is that there’s no cloud storage or, apparently, backup of any kind. I had several hours of work on an image when my phone reached a point that it needed a factory reset. I backed up my phone, did the reset, restored from the backup, and promptly discovered my image totally sucked into the void. Nothing. The idea that it wasn’t even saved on my backup (done via USB) was a complete deal breaker for me. I really liked it, and was even willing to use it on my phone despite the funny view issues, but I’ve gotta find something that treats my data like it might be important to me. #crushed #ItsNotMeItsYou

I bought into this app with very low expectations. I was looking for something that would have a catalogue of shapes and icons that I could later use into something else and for that, at a very basic level, Jonathan’s app provides. I have two logo projects and as it so happened there were just the right elements to tweak with that fit one of my logo needs. The biggest issue is that when exporting to SVG it sends the file to your email, NOT to your files or gives an option to open an app like my Vectornator. Going through email, is old and archaic and really speaks to how young the app is. It is my hope that the next version allows you to send the SVG to Files or open it in a a design app of your choice. The next issue is this needs a LARGER library. The collection of shapes, though surprising, needs a larger expansion. What would be a nice is a direct download from one or two of the free vector sites out there. Sort of like how Fonteer has direct download from Google Fonts or from Font Squirrel. The main thing that makes Vector Logo stand out is the fact that unlike all these other apps calling themselves “logo apps” is this is the ONLY logo app PERIOD that allows you to save in proper Vector SVG. If your brand is that important to you, do not use these other apps. Your logo must be a vector. Vector Logo can potentially be a serious money saver in the long run. I gave Vector Logo a 3 star because I want the exporting issue fixed as well is I want to see a greater catalogue of shapes. If you are a pro vector designer you can make some cool stuff with this app. The SVG files are solid. The piece I did opened right up in Vectornator. Make these improvements and I will upgrade the rating to 5 stars. Keep up the good work. Can’t wait to see how this app grows!
