Spike City

The game is enjoyable and has a nice concept, but there are some things that ruin the gameplay. First, the controls. They could be better but are not bad. They are a bit slippery but mediocre. Next, I think it was dumb that you had to pay for the adventure mode. It is an ADVENTURE MODE. WHY DO YOU HAVE TO USE THE IN GAME MONEY TO PAY FOR IT?!?! Lastly, the level design, my worst complaint about it. The second level in adventure mode, it is so RIDICULOUSLY HARD to get the last collectable. It made me rage and delete the app that I just got 5 minutes ago.

I downloaded this game yesterday, and as soon as I got used to the (surprisingly intuitive) controls, I realized how fun this simple game is. It’s fast paced, makes you think, but isn’t too challenging. Ads aren’t intrusive, and the game can still be fun without micro transactions. Unfortunately when I tried to open the game today, it just crashes immediately. I had seen this issue in reviews before downloading but didn’t think anything of it until it happened to me. Nitrome, as someone who has played your online games for years, I beg of you to fix this game <3. I’m giving 4 stars until then ;)

This game wasn’t good but it not that bad. The idea of the game was good but there is only so little you can do with it. There is only two thing to do ( except for the shop ) which is endless and level selections. Once you start the game you have to start on endless and to unlock the levels which is like the same as endless but in a small section. The levels are 4 worlds and each world has 4 level and one fairly easy but challenging boss which most of the time were easy except for 3-3 and 4-4. The game only took and hour to play and 4 minutes after that to get all the coins from each level which is kinda easy to understand because of how easy this game is. Then again I felt like this game could’ve been better like when you start the endless, it just pure red and you don’t see another color unless you pass 80(meters?) also when watching an ad, sometimes the ad wouldn’t which waited force you to close the app and lose you progress of the level your on ( 3-3, 4-4). Overall this was a hard, boring game except for the idea of how to play.
