After checking several other air quality apps and online air quality info, this app's info was the most consistently reliable. The app is easy to use. It lists the air quality at the monitors that are closest to my location and other locations throughout the city and state, instead of just an overall air quality number for the entire city. It could use a couple of improvements, including listing the temperature in Fahrenheit instead of Celsius and giving an explanation of what the air quality numbers and colors relate to. This info can be easily found in other locations. With the extreme smokey conditions from the wildfires this has become my go to app.
Itโs great to have easy to understand AQI data and to be able to create favorite locations for a quick view. Lots of room for improvement though: - AQI data changes rapidly but the data in the app is always 2-3 hours behind, so you have to interpret trends. - the app crashes frequently. Seems to always crash when it canโt contact the server. - needs to be a way to force an update rather than quitting and restarting the app.
I see that someone has commented that the air quality data are current. I havenโt found that to be the case at all on either the app or the website. The AQI runs anywhere from two to three hours behind. This lag time is frustrating in our current situation of smoke-filled air. The conditions change quickly, and if I want to go outside now, it hardly helps to know what the air quality was two hours ago. The information provided is quite interesting, though, if you care about historical data.
