First the application does what it claims. The UI is ok but could use some more user friendly control sequences and better flow/help features.
Cons: Being a bit picky but really what is needed when thinking of automation and where technology is headed.
So, it lacks any multi step programming. They provide a few effects but they are limited and you are unable to create your own.
A) it does not have a music sync feature like other applications.
B) I’m unable to program events or setup multi sequence routines for a device or devices. Example: I want to setup a Mardi Gras sequence for a party. I want to set a group of lights to colors. Perhaps delay a time period and then change the set of colors. So set three devices one each purple, green, golden yellow. Maybe 3 seconds then change or rotate each devices color to one of the three. Maybe dim or brighten. Maybe sync to music being played. Maybe all of the above on a fixed or within parameters random pattern.
The application tends to assume one sequence event per device. I often want to string multiple events or sequence.
As a wish list item I’d pay for an api that allowed control of devices and allowed interfaces with future technology. Think personal robots for example. Maybe turn lights RED and ir blinking when a room is being cleaned to help warn people to pay attention. Ie wet floors or dusty environment for people with respiratory issues. Etc.

Bought 4 bulbs. Needed to create an account, so did so through the app by using the “Create an account” link in the app, filling in my email address and waiting for a verification email to create a login. Email never arrived after multiple tries; I checked spam, trash, and every other folder, a ne nada, it just doesn’t show up. So I’m unable to create an account using the app.
Went to their website instead. There I’m able to create an account and log in to their website, but only after multiple warnings telling me I needed to allow cookies, even though cookies are already enabled. Unfortunately, there appears to be a complete disconnect between the website and the app. Using the same email and PW in the app that I use on the website throws an error message: “Account does not exist.” I’ve tried for the better part of an hour to make this happen, logging in, logging out, restarting my phone, trying on my iPad, going through the Sengled app, going through my SmartThings app, all with the same result. API is hosed. With no way to create an account in the app, and the app not recognizing the login created on the website, there’s no way to set these bulbs up. I can’t believe the incompetence of a company that trips you up on something as simple as creating an account. Sending the bulbs back, deleting the app, and I’ll never buy from Sengled again. Horrible experience.

I got four bulbs I’ve been using for a year now. We just moved to a new house and I’m trying to get these bulbs connected to the new Wi-Fi. The app keeps asking me to check setting to allow the app to access local network devices. The app already has this permission in my settings but the app just keeps asking again and again anyway. Can’t get passed it.
UPDATE:
They have updated the app and everything is working perfectly again so I’ve changed my rating from 1 star to 3. Can’t go more than 3 stars because…they need to be more careful with future updates to they don’t completely crash their product again. Also, when calling their customer support number I just got a recording that they’re not taking calls at this time. I emailed too and they never responded. The bulbs themselves are pretty decent but lose connection when used in my porch lights despite the fact that my router is still very close by and the signal is strong. For less money I bought a four pack of Feit brand bulbs at Costco that work much better, don’t lose connection, and have color changing abilities.

Sengled smart LED bulbs can be programmed for gradual brightening and wake you up with lights naturally. Sleep schedule will control the Sengled smart LED bulbs in night light for delayed dimming.
