I’m glad there’s no minigames, but good god there’s just so much waiting. Someone claims it’s more realistic, but I strongly disagree. This is a game that starts with a mystery where a woman lost in the woods turns on speech to text and it somehow picks up noise to play ambient sound while changing the phone background relevant images. Also you get to play through Annie’s nightmare. So we have a completely bizarre plot where Annie’s husband Thomas tried to kill her and run off with their daughter because Annie heard frankly absolutely nothing important over the phone. And the reason Thomas is like that is because his father ran off with him when he was a child. In my game I had her shoot him and then she flies home with her daughter and gets a text on Thomas’ phone that she’s still being watched. Then I got a game over jpg. And that’s what I played 30 seconds - 2 minutes of game followed by 12 minutes - 6 hours of waiting for. That’s what this mystery led to. A wet fart. I’m sorry, I appreciate the effort, but this isn’t even a good visual novel.
The game is pretty fun, the only thing I don’t love is the wait times, but they’re usually not bad considering there’s still real life going on, and it makes the game more realistic
Although “Help Annie” may not be as immersive and exciting as this company’s more recent works (Seven series, The Sign, The Healing) it still provides much fun, amidst plenty of action and hours of real-time gameplay as your decisions and guidance will help to determine Annie’s fate after a romantic trip to Romania with her husband turns into a living nightmare (she wakes up to find herself alone in their car, husband and daughter both missing, with you being the only person she can contact who can help her). For a game that’s entirely free and requires no puzzles to move on through levels, it hardly seems fair to give it anything less than 5 stars. Looking forward to the next chapters of The Healing and everything else these developers put out in the future! :)
"Help Annie" is an adventurous interactive mystery thriller in the manner of a Messenger App Game – exciting, fantastic and full of suspense. YOU are...
