Reviews: What People Think About CCPS PSIE
Dr. Chris Knudsen
Rating: 3/5
The developers have made a strong start on this app, but something is needed to make it useful. At present, the app, when opened, begins a “loading” phase, which is apparently caught in an endless loop. This loop blocks exploration of the app’s several primary functions. A score of “3” is merited by the app’s potential, despite this serious “bug.” Best of luck to the developer(s).

I love the idea of this app, but as noted by others it freezes up after one use and have to uninstall and reinstall to get it to launch again. Also has not been updated for the revised API 754 Process Safety Event classification thresholds, so you’re better off using the RP itself.
About CCPS PSIE
The Process Safety Incident Evaluation app will lets users evaluate a chemical incident against safety indicators.
The PSIE app will have three main components: the Process Safety Incident (PSI) Evaluation Questionnaire, the Severity Weighting Questionnaire, and the Chemical and Mixtures Database.
The PSIE app Questionnaire will walk a user, step-by-step, through the evaluation of an event leading to the determination of whether it meets Tier 1 or Tier 2 PSE Criteria.
The Severity Weighting Questionnaire will help determine the severity rating of a confirmed Tier 1 event via a separate questionnaire. Last but not least, the app will enable users to save, e-mail or print the final report after answering either or both questionnaires.
The chemical and mixtures database will provide a standard list of chemicals and mixtures. The app will also provide the user with a way to add, remove, or edit custom chemicals or mixtures to this database so long as the user can provide at a minimum number of fields.
