Having used it all summer while in Taiwan. I would have to say that use it’s service with cautions. 1. It reduces speed to like a grandpa’s motor when the battery is below 30%. Image when you get it when it’s at 46%, quickly it went down to 30% and you are the slow motor blocking everyone at green light. When a road shows green lights all the way, your slow speed get you to wait for every light to turn red and lengthen your rental periods. 2. It needs to scan the motor upon returning the motor, which is not needed for GoShare. 3. WePass presents limited value and the fine print has an auto renewal so if you do not uncheck it, you get charged without needing your approval. I learned the lesson the hard way after I left Taiwan and got a renewal charge when I can’t even use the service. 4. There are typically more availability of GoShare motors than WeMo. I used to love WeMo whenever I am in Taiwan. After this summer, I found it became more expensive than before, and the trap on the limited valued WePass renewal, making me pay for not reading the fine-print just pushed me further over to become a GoShare user.

The service claims to not save credit card info, but I deleted/reinstalled the app, and after logging in, discovered that my credit card info was still there, which means that payment info is saved on the server side. Also, the UI provides no clear way of deleting the credit card. Service is good, but this practice seems sketchy. Update in response to dev: I don’t care that CC is saved. I care that: 1. The app clearly states “WeMo does not save or store your credit card information.” This is false. 2. A user needs to contact a real person to delete that info. This is not reasonable. Maybe “sketchy” is too much, and to be fair, your main competitor has the same issue with cc removal. But these things aren’t acceptable for a service that’s been operating for 3 years; it makes your disclaimers appear less trustworthy.
