bObsweep

The app has some serious limitations. 1) It doesn’t suggest that you run a scan on the floor plan first - which is necessary if you have a larger space (a commercial floor plan, in my case). 2) The tool to label rooms is capped at 7 - and doesn’t allow you to input your own labels. 3) There is a cap on the number of no-sweep zones. 4) You cannot rotate the no-sweep zone selectors into a diagonal format - so your no-sweep zone is always locked into being parallel with the four walls of the floor plan. 5) You cannot draw a “room divider” in the middle of a room. 6) We absolutely cannot get the sweeper to remember where it was when the battery ran low, and resume - no matter how hard we try, and despite the fact that the toggle for this feature is on in our app. 7) The sweeper will sometimes experience a location error when on your map - and the only solve for this appears to be a complete rescan of the entire environment. 8) They need a better setup for a feedback loop that could improve their app software - as we WANT the app to improve. And I could go on…

So far we are loving it! We wanted to invest in something that will help manage our dog hair… we have a floofy Samoyed. It is not as great with his hair as I’m sure it is with shorter dog hair, but it has definitely been helpful. We just have to cut the brush and wheels free every couple days. But I love that I can set a schedule and let it do its thing, and that it maps out the house so I doesn’t run into as many things or gets stuck. I’ve only tried the mop function once, but excited to have that as a feature too, lord knows I need all the help in the cleaning department I can get. More specifically relating to the app, Bob did map something (I think it sucked up a cord?) and added an odd map section that I can’t seem to delete, but that’s not the end of the world. I’d also love an option for a schedule to “mop only”? I didn’t see that as an option, so I could be wrong but that would be helpful! Vicky

Our BobSweep, “Dusty” has been doing a really good job mapping and cleaning our house the last few days. We are going to try the mop function this weekend too! This app is really easy to use and you can also see where the robot is while it cleans, which is a nice bonus. I love how it stores up to three maps for different floors because that was my main concern about these robots and whether or not they can do multiple floors. My question has been answered! The color coding and no sweep/mop zones make it VERY easy to “set it and forget it” with this robot. The map view sometimes resets and goes off my screen until I pinch and find it again, so that may be a bug to look into but it still works fine otherwise. We are VERY pleased with this robot vacuum so far. I’m also very impressed with the customer service, specifically from Carlo Dayao. I had some questions, and he was very quick to respond kindly and friendly. The product, app, and customer service is all great so far! The index card announcing the new arrival was also a cute touch! Keep up the great work!
