ZEISS Hunting

Garbage app… you’ve got to be on internet and logged in or it just says “no internet connection” why would a simple ballistic app that supports a scope you bought from Zeiss require an internet connection? Also, even when connected and logged in, the app is a garbage marketing tool. I regret purchasing my Zeiss Conquest 5HD 3-15x42 because the rapid Z reticle calculator is too hard to access and use. The sad thing is, when Ibought the scope originally, that wasn’t the case. Zeiss, my advise would be to fire your marketing department and restore access to what was once a very assessable and usable app!

App works well for figuring out rough point of impact. The app takes a while to load and freezes up if WiFi is not available. Would like to see an off line function so you could still access dope charts.

I purchased the ZEISS 10 X 42 RF binoculars because of the built in ballistic program. When I attempted to sync with the ZEISS Hunter App I was exasperated. The app has a function that is supposed to measure local conditions using cel towers. This does not happen. The charts that are displayed are accurate only for sea level. Fortunately the binoculars know where it is and makes appropriate adjustments. If you sight your rifle at sea level things are fine at altitude if you only rely on the binoculars for holdover. If you rely on the chart in the app it will not adjust for altitude. I talked with tech support three different times and they were not aware of the problem. They told me I should always use the automatic “conditions function before syncing with the binoculars. That gives accurate results only if you are zeroing the rifle at sea level.
