AB Quantum

This is phenomenal for so many reasons. The 2A industry, generally, lags in tech by a large margin, but this is absolutely solid to modern app standards. The broad execution is excellent, but it’s the details where I’m impressed. For instance, the WEZ uses Monte Carlo simulations to ascribe P-sub H, rather than simple probability distributions. The inclusion of “Spotter” is fantastic (and likely underutilized by users), it’s like having a PhD ballistician at your side to explore and explain every aspect of ballistics. It provides instant expert analysis on complex topics like aerodynamic jump and offers real-time troubleshooting for connected hardware like Kestrel and Garmin devices. By utilizing radar-verified Custom Drag Models, it ensures your firing solutions are mathematically superior to any standard approximation. It effectively turns my device into a living coach, providing a level of confidence and technical support that is totally unmatched.

Until recently, the best ballistic solvers were still pretty clunky and basic. Aptly renamed, the newest versions of Applied Ballistics is truly a Quantum leap. Its engine had always been one of the best, but others were easier (not easy!) to use. Now AB has not only completely revised everything about its interface to be the best version, but it has leapfrogged all the competition to become far easier to understand and to use. Not only that, but at warp speed it is adding huge powerful new features never available before with frequent releases. I’m blown away (pun intended).

I hope they get the bugs figured out, but it just constantly freezes and crashes, half my profiles had disappeared (were there first time I opened the app then they just vanished) and just now I made sure it’s the latest version and now ALL of my profiles are gone. user interface to get a solution is terrible and gets stuck on say range card making it unable to change any input. It seems as if where buttons are suppose to be they just stop working randomly. and instead of “folders” ie guns that you can build different loads for, all profiles are on the same screen so you scroll and scroll and scroll and then they all disappear. But mostly the crashing and freezing and user interface makes it miserable. I actually built profiles in Hornady, which I also don’t like, for the first time in like 3 years since downloading it because it is so terrible. Reached out a week or so ago and haven’t heard anything back from them. Little cloud symbol I’m guessing is sync, shows a check mark. I really hate the app now, it’s useless. Also it wouldn’t even find my nor my buddies kestrel to even try to link up to. It feels like they didn’t even test it to see if it worked, just pushed the beta version to everyone. I’ve left probably 3 reviews of products in my life but this warrants it unfortunately. If things improve I’ll amend my review
