Smart charging is completely stupid if you don’t have a departure time set. They have no concept of this use case and do not account for it in their programming. Further, there is no way to see pulse consumption or generation outside of the app and no Apple Watch support at all.
I started using this app over a year ago because it promised to save me money on my electricity bill. While it does a good job of showing you electricity rates, it's only a small part of your electricity bill. There are two other very important fees, the grid fee and the average daily load fee, which for some reason Tibber does not include. These two fees can account for as much as 80% of your electricity bill. The grid fee depends on the time of day you use electricity. Regular rate will be between 06-22 and night rate will be between 22-06. If you want to easily save 30-40% on your electricity bill, you should pay attention to your average daily load (the capacity rate). This rate is divided into several price levels. The three hours with the highest concurrent usage during the month are important in determining which tier you end up in each month. Other apps to consider: Elvia, Lyse, Vibb Good luck Tibber
