I have tried many BLE tools, not just for Nordic hardware. (I used Rennesas’ app until I found nRF Connect.) This tool may be geared for interfacing with Nordic HW, but it is miles ahead of others in its ability to accurately reflect the BLE environment and display that in an easy to understand manner. Whatever they are doing to increase the reliability of connections with all of my iPhones of various age is greatly appreciated. So much so that you would be wasting your time using any other tool to analyze your BLE environment — regardless of hardware in which you are trying to connect. Thanks Nordic. Keep up the good work.
I can say without a doubt this app is worth integrating in your embedded development workflow. Was trying to use a Python BLE client for Windows that didn’t have the capabilities needed (extended advertisement) when my coworker showed me this app. This app definitely does its job well and was able to unblock my flow. Would recommend for any embedded BLE development. Great job team. Cheers,
I (somewhat unfortunately) decided to install the updated version that was released 08/19, based on the fact that even though the release notes said there were major changes, no features were noted as being removed. However, with the latest version you can no longer see (or share) a raw log of all the data being passed back from registered characteristics. I emailed the developers and they said we could expect it in several updates, but as I told them also it’s kinda sad to remove a major feature during a huge development process and also at least not warn anyone 😥 Aside from that, the new design is better, although I wish I could drag the connected sensor drawer full screen or card like as it will be in iOS 13.
