CryptoTrader: Charts & Alerts

Used to love this app. The UI looks awesome but it's functionality has plummeted. The candles don't load when switching between a day and one hour. (or day to week). Changing between landscape mode often cause it to fail. Used to be able to go back much further now it only goes back a few months and you're not able to see a years worth because it adjusts the view automatically. (and 'follows' you). This can create the impression price is going up OR down depending on where you stop. Not reflective of an accurate timeline. Zooming out is limited. If all you need is the past few days or weeks this works fine. Most traders however will use increments at a week, six months, a year, etc. intervals. This app (now) misses the mark.

Definitely one of the best apps for following the various exchanges. Newest version has an annoying issue where it fails to load intervening candles and volumes when waking from background; necessitates force-closing and restarting. Also, some exchanges frequently flake out and show 0.00 prices, despite still showing the book. Wish there was an in-app bug reporting feature so I didn't have to submit them here!

If you want accessible crypto charts for the most liquid and capitalized currencies, I really don't see a better option. At least without designing your own app, or using a desktop. I went through a phase where I experimented with every different easy-to-read candle and bar thing available for crypto trading; ultimately I use this one almost exclusively even if my desktop is sitting there. I would advise a later model iPhone however, as I can't imagine how it would work on any iPhone or iPad released before 2015. Could be wrong.
