Haven't read all that much yet, but I did get an American story here before it appeared anywhere else. More later,

If you open this app in landscape mode, it displays a jumbled mess, and won't function correctly until closed completely (double-tap the home button and swipe it upward off the screen to close it, exiting the app and re-opening it does nothing), and re-opened in portrait mode. Aside from that bug, the app feels great, the design is beautiful, and it's easy to navigate through the top stories of the day. It feels like a magazine, with glossy photos accompanying each story. While the look and feel is better in this app compared to the website, there is one major feature of Safari that I miss when reading in the app: Safari gives access to the Duden dictionary, just highlight a word and ask for the definition. A built in dictionary would be worth an in-app purchase to me; as it is, I'm divided on whether to use the site or the app.

The App works vey well and any American who can read German, even if not great, would do well to read the FAZ. American need an alternative news source.
