Though this course was extremely helpful and beneficial to learning how to safely operate PWC and boats, I did have a few problems I was hoping to address. Starting with the benefits of using this app, I enjoyed several different aspects. The ability to be able to complete the course on your phone instead of laptop and the ability to complete the course offline was very important for me. Second, I appreciated the interactive storyline and fun activities. Such as the mini quizzes and determining what to do when approaching another boat, a buoy, or overtaking another vehicle, along with the mystery and characters. The mystery of Kalkomoke Island was very good indeed, except for the fact that I had to redo all of the dialogue for almost 30 minutes because I guessed the wrong person at the end of the mystery. In addition, I got stuck doing the fire activity and it took me numerous tries over about a half hour to complete what should’ve taken less than 1 minute. Also, there should’ve been activities regarding the knots and anchors to demonstrate how they worked. Seeing a diagram of how to tie a knot is much more difficult to understand than walking us through the process in an activity. That being said, though a few improvements need to be made, I very much enjoyed completing this course. It was so much better the just doing a regular program. I hope you make more of these mysteries with certain things like a sailing program. Please consider this. Thanks!

Followed way too many steps trying to fix this. App couldn’t verify and send my completed courses to the site for final exam. Cleared cache and cookies. Switched to desktop mode. Tried multiple browsers. “The (stupid) mystery” shows “in progress” with zero direction on what you would need to do to complete it. Although it shows in progress I get the pop up stating I have completed all necessary steps in order to move on to the final exam. When the page loads it shows “404 page not found”. Tells you to contact them but does not provide a number or email to do so. If no response by Monday, I’ll move forward with calling my bank to get my money back.

I found this course through the boaters ed website. It said this course was faster so i decided it was worth the extra money. Unfortunately i had no idea i would be redirected to a mobile app to take the actual course. This shouldve been made clear before purchasing but it was too late for me. I saw the reviews and was obviously concerned, especially for the infamous fire extinguisher phase. I honestly crashed out at that step ngl. But after a few failed attempts i came back and tried to mimic the way the finger does it in the demo. By tracing my finger exactly as the tutorial you receive after failing, by a miracle i passed that step. There is a legit certification that is emailed to you at the end of the course. Your permanent boaters card will be mailed to you within a few weeks. This course took me about 3 hours total. I skipped through all the dialogue and just sped through the quizzes. If i actually read the dialogue it would be a painful experience, but luckily i didnt have to. Knowing what i know, i would recommend just taking a standard course. It really is a shame that people cant pass the course, not because of the information, but because of a glitch in a game. Seems stupid to me. But if youre reading this review its probably too late. Dont give up to easily at the fire extinguisher, there is hope. Good luck
